Japanese rubber giant Yokohama establishes regional hub in Turkey

Yokohama TWS, a subsidiary of Japan's leading tire manufacturer Yokohama Rubber Company, has decided to establish a regional hub in Istanbul as part of its ongoing global expansion strategy. As part of this initiative, the Japanese company has founded Yokohama TWS Turkey Tire Industry and Trade, aiming to meet the needs of the Turkish market while also serving neighboring countries in the region.

The new operation would enable faster delivery times and introduce multi brand solutions to the market, the Japanese firm stated.

The company aims to strengthen ties with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), dealers, and industry professionals, emphasizing a "local for local" strategy. A dedicated local team will oversee operations, ensuring responsive service, faster product delivery, and access to a diverse tire portfolio, including sustainable options, according to the statement.

While Yokohama TWS recognized Turkey as a key hub in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) off-highway tire market, it did not disclose specific market figures or growth projections in its statement.

Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. is a global tire and rubber manufacturer founded in Japan in 1917, with a 108 year history, $6 billion in revenue, and over 27,000 employees. It produces tires for passenger cars, trucks, off-road vehicles, and industrial applications, along with various rubber based products. Yokohama TWS (Tire & Wheel Systems) is the company's off-highway tire division, specializing in tires for agricultural, construction, and industrial vehicles. It operates across EMEA, the Americas, and Asia markets.
